What areas do you service?
Based in Toledo, OH, Strings and Keys services areas in both Michigan and Ohio such as Temperance, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Lambertville, Toledo, Sylvania, Oregon, etc. Available for travel. Additional travel fees may be applied.
How far in advance should I book my date?
As soon as you set your event date! My services book up quickly, sometimes more than a year in advance. Since having beautiful music is a very important aspect of your special event, it's vital that you reserve your musician as soon as you set your event date.
Are you able to provide other instrument choices?
Although my primary instruments are violin and piano, I also play the flute and cello. I additionally have connections with several other violinists, pianists, vocalists, etc..if needed!
When will the musician arrive to my ceremony?
I typically arrive 30 minutes prior to your ceremony start time in order to allow adequate time to setup and discuss music cues with the procession assistant.
Can I request a special song?
I can play any song you request!
Will the musician need to attend my wedding rehearsal?
I do not need to attend the dress rehearsal. If I am coordinating with another musician that you have chosen, (i.e., a family or friend that sings or plays the piano) then a dress rehearsal will be required, in which case there will be an additional $40 charge (if within a 30 mile radius).
What do you require to reserve my date?
A signed copy of the contract you received via email along with a 50% deposit via PayPal or check.
How far in advance will you need my music selections?
I will need your music selections no later than one month prior to your ceremony.
My ceremony is only going to last 20 or 30 minutes. What is the minimum amount of time I can book?
Most wedding ceremonies typically only last 20-30 minutes. However, the minimum time I require per booking is one hour. This allows time to set-up, go over the cues with your processional assistant, play 10-15 minutes of prelude music as your guests are being seated, your ceremony and your postlude music. By the time it's all said and done it usually equals about one hour.
Will my guests be able to hear a solo violin without amplification?
If your guest list stays under 150 people there is no need for amplification. If you plan on having more than 150 attendees, or your wedding is large and outside in a wide open space, additional amplification will be needed.
What happens if it rains, or is unusually hot or cold?
Because of the nature of my instruments, I cannot expose them to extreme weather. If there is any precipitation (even light) you will need to provide adequate covering or a "Plan B". Temperatures above 90 degrees in the summer or below 55 degrees in the winter can cause the violin to crack or warp. Unfortunately, I am unable to issue refunds in the instance of rain or extreme weather conditions, so it's a good idea to have a back- up plan.
In what event would the musician cancel?
In the event of an extreme accident or illness, you will be completely refunded. However, I will do my best to find a substitute for you.
